Free kanban board — no signup, no login

Open cnvs.app/todo and you are on a new kanban board in one click — no account, no email, no login, for you or anyone you invite. Share the link and everyone edits the same board live. It is free with no paid plan; the trade-off is that anyone with the link can edit unless you lock it, and boards nobody opens for 30 days are deleted.

What you get without registering

How to create a kanban board without registration

  1. Open cnvs.app/todo. A new kanban board is created with three columns — To do, In progress and Done — and you land on it. No account, email or login.
  2. Add tasks. Click + Add task under a column and type a name. Open a card to add a description, due date, priority (H, M or L) and an assignee.
  3. Share the link. Copy the board URL from the address bar and send it. Everyone who opens it edits the same board and sees cards move in real time.
  4. Lock it if you want. Use the padlock (Board access) to set a code: Lock writing (anyone can read) or Lock reading + writing.
  5. Keep a backup. From the Board menu, use Save board (.json) for a full backup or Export tasks (.csv) for a spreadsheet. Boards nobody opens for 30 days are deleted.

Prefer a different starting layout? cnvs.app/todo?template=sprint opens with Backlog / Sprint / Review / Done, and cnvs.app/todo?template=bugs with Triage / Confirmed / In progress / Fixed.

On your phone

The board works in a mobile browser with nothing to install. On touch devices it opens in Structured view: the current row fills the screen, other rows collapse to bars you can tap, and you swipe sideways between columns. To move cards by dragging, switch to Free pan view in the Board menu and long-press a card to pick it up. Your choice is remembered on that device.

Moving from Trello (or another tool)

Export your board from the other tool, then choose Open file… in the cnvs.app Board menu. The file is recognised by its content, and it always opens as a new board in a new tab — nothing you already have is overwritten.

Trello is the better choice for a board you will run for months with accounts, mobile apps and automation. cnvs.app is the better choice when you need a board now and don't want to ask anyone to register. For the full feature comparison see cnvs.app as a Trello alternative.

FAQ

Can I really create a kanban board without signing up?

Yes. cnvs.app has no accounts at all. Opening cnvs.app/todo creates a new kanban board and takes you to it; there is no email, password or login step for you or for anyone you share the link with.

Who can edit my board?

Anyone who has the link can view and edit it, unless you lock it. The padlock (Board access) lets you set a code to lock writing (anyone can still read) or lock reading and writing. Locking is one-way: if everyone forgets the code, the board cannot be recovered.

How long does a kanban board stay online?

As long as someone keeps opening it. A board that nobody opens for 30 days is deleted automatically, and editing alone over the live connection does not reset that clock — loading the board does. Save a .json backup or export tasks to CSV if you need to keep them.

Can I import my Trello board?

Yes. Choose Open file… from the Board menu and pick a Trello JSON or CSV export. It also reads CSV exports from Todoist, Asana, Jira, Notion, ClickUp and Linear. The import always opens as a new board in a new tab.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. On touch devices the board opens in Structured view: one row fills the screen and you swipe between columns. To drag cards with your finger, switch to Free pan view in the Board menu and long-press a card.

How big can a board get?

Each kanban board holds up to 1,000 tasks and 200 columns, arranged in up to 10 rows of up to 20 columns. There is no limit on how many boards you open.
